WaTcHiNg Me wAtchinG YoU

I sit there watching him as he watches me.
I don't know what to say, what to think, what to do.
He stares at me with great intent, as if I am a source for entertainment.
I sit there uneasily, darting my glances from one side of the room to the other.
We speak simultaneously, not really planning on saying anything important,
Only to crack the deafening silence.

I sit there watching him as he watches me.
I don't know what to say, what to think, what to do.
We sit facing each other,
Now only engrossed in one another's features,
Drinking them in like a parched wanderer,
Searching for a lifetime, only finding nothing.

I sit there watching him as he watches me.
I don't know what to say, what to think, what to do.
I can tell he is nervous to look past my outer beauty, into what really counts.
I am a locked box, only he has the key to my soul.
He is my dream, what I've always wanted in my life,
And now he is sitting in front of me.

I sit there watching him as he watches me.
I don't know what to say, what to think, what to do.
He moves to touch me, only his movement is in slow motion.
He brushes my hair out of my face, grazing my cheek with his masculine hand.
I am surprised at his light touch, I jump back a little, startled.

I sit there watching him as he watches me.
I don't know what to say, what to think, what to do.
Yes I do.
I say I love you,
I think I love him,
I give him my heart for all of eternity.
That is what I say, what I think, what I do.
